Announcement settings
This guide describes the Announcement bar section.
Use the section to display messages about sales, special discounts, and new products at the top of your store's pages.
Color scheme

| Color scheme | Color scheme applied to the announcement bar, including the country/region and language selectors. Schemes are managed in Theme settings → Colors; use Edit scheme to jump there. Default: Scheme 5. |
Announcement text
The announcement messages themselves are added as Announcement blocks under the section. Multiple messages scroll continuously as a marquee.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Scroll duration | Time for one complete scroll cycle. Higher values scroll slower. Range: 10–100 s, step 5. Default: 50 s. |
| Pause animation on hover | Pauses the scrolling text while the pointer is over the bar. Default: On. |
| Item spacing | Distance between announcement items, including the separator. Range: 1–20 rem, step 0.5. |
| Separator | Shape shown between announcement items: Dash, Square or Circle. Default: Dash. |
| Separator color | Color of the separator. Leave empty to use the announcement text color. |
Country/region selector
Countries and currencies are added in Shopify admin → Settings → Markets. These settings are displayed in the announcement bar on desktop. The selector appears only when the store has more than one country/region available.

| Enable country/region selector | Shows the country/region selector in the announcement bar. The settings below appear only when this is on. Default: On. |
| Show country name | Shows the country/region name in the selector. Default: On. |
| Show currency ISO code | Shows the currency code (for example USD) in the selector. Default: On. |
| Show currency symbol | Shows the currency symbol (for example $) in the selector. Default: On. |
Language selector
Languages are added in Shopify admin → Settings → Languages. These settings are displayed in the announcement bar on desktop. The selector appears only when the store has more than one language published.
