Media settings (Featured product)

Setting Description
Gallery layout

This option refers to the way in which product images are displayed on the product page.

There are two options:

  • Thumbnail: When a product has multiple media types, the additional media are shown as thumbnails below the main product media. Customers can click on any thumbnail to view it.
  • Thumbnail carousel: When a product has multiple media types, the additional media are shown as thumbnails in a carousel below the main product media. Customers can click on any thumbnail to view it or use the carousel navigation arrows on the main product media to see other media.

*Clicking main media opens a pop-up window with a larger view of the media.

Media fit

“Media fit” refers to how product images or other media (such as videos) are sized and displayed within their respective containers on a web page. The three options for Media fit are:

  • Original: This setting displays the media at its original size, without any cropping or resizing.
  • Contain: This setting scales the media to fit within the container while maintaining its aspect ratio. This can be useful for ensuring that all elements of an image or video are visible on screens of all sizes, but may result in some blank space around the edges of the container.
  • Cover: This setting scales the media to cover the entire container, cropping any parts of the media that extend beyond the edges of the container.

Show product galleries This option works in conjunction with the gallery layout feature, which allows customers to view a set of thumbnail images, videos, and 3D models of the product. By marking the checkbox, you can enable this feature and allow customers to view all the available images of the product.
Enable video looping If you add a video to showcase your product, “enabling video looping” will allow customers to watch the video over and over again without having to manually restart it. This can be useful in highlighting specific features or aspects of the product that the customer may have missed during the first viewing.
Show badges You can show or hide badges for the section, marking the checkbox or removing the checkmark according to your design preferences.
Image width Use a slider to adjust the width of the image.

Thumbnail carousel

In this layout, a set of images are displayed in a carousel format within the main product image block. This allows customers to easily scroll through and view different images of the product without having to leave the main product page. The carousel can be navigated using arrows.

Additionally, four visible thumbnail images of the product are shown at the bottom of the main image block and can be scrolled with the hand cursor. Customers also can click on any of these images or other elements to view them in the main image block.

Furthermore, if you have added 3D models or videos of your product in the Shopify admin panel, they will also be included in the thumbnail carousel for customers to view. This provides a more immersive experience for customers and allows them to see your product from multiple angles.

Thumbnail

In this layout, you will see one main image, and below it all the thumbnail images, videos, and 3D models which you can add to the product in Products/Shopify admin panel. Customers can click on any of these thumbnail elements to view them in the main image block.
