Video settings

This guide describes the Video section.

Use this section to display a video from your store’s media library or showcase a video from an external URL. The video can be set to play on loop for continuous viewing, and you can also add a cover image for videos from an external URL.

Key Features:

Main heading: Add a heading to introduce the video content.
Description: Provide a brief description or context for the video.

This section is ideal for adding dynamic content such as product demos, tutorials, or brand stories.

How to access the Video section

Access this section through the theme customizer:

Navigate to Online Store > Themes
Select “Customize” on your active theme
From any page, click “Add section”
Search and select “Video”

To insert a new section between existing ones, follow the steps in the article "Add a section"

Once the video section is added, you can customize its appearance and functionality using the available settings.

How to configure the Video section

Basic Components

The “Video” section consists of general settings.

To start customizing your video, click on the “Video” section to access its settings.

Select a setting described in the following table:

Setting	Description
Heading	Enter a heading that briefly describes the video or the message you want to convey. This field is for adding a heading to the section. In the top menu of the field, you can find options to customize the heading. Furthermore, you can click the dynamic source button to insert a dynamic source as the title of the section.
Heading size	The heading size setting offers three options to control the size of your section heading: Small Medium Large
Description	Provides additional context, details of the video content. It helps users understand what they will learn or experience in the video before they decide to watch it. In the top menu of the field, you can find options to customize the text. Additionally, you can use the style of headings from H1 to H6 to the body text. Furthermore, you can click the dynamic source button to insert a dynamic source for the description.
Description size	There are three options to control the size of your description: Small Medium Large
Heading alignment	Align the heading or heading with description according to your design preferences: Left Center Right
Play video on loop	Enable this option to make the video play continuously in a loop.

Shopify-hosted video

Setting	Description
Video	Click the 'Select video' button and upload your chosen video file.

Or embed video from URL

Shows when no Shopify-hosted video is selected.

Setting	Description
URL	Enter a YouTube or Vimeo URL to the video you want to display.
Cover image	Add a cover image that will be shown before the video starts playing.
Video alt text	The alt text for the video. Describes the context and purpose of the video for customers using screen readers.

Style

Setting	Description
Make section full width	Make video full width of the page.
Color scheme	Applying a color scheme to a video section automatically updates all associated colors set in the theme settings according to the created color schemes. You can edit colors in this block, but it will impact the other sections and blocks in which the same color scheme is used.

Section padding

Setting	Description
Top padding	The 'Top padding' setting allows you to adjust the amount of space at the top of the section using a slider.
Bottom padding	The 'Bottom padding' setting functions similarly to the “Section top padding” setting, but controls the space at the bottom of the section.
Top padding mobile	The 'Top padding mobile' setting allows you to adjust the amount of space at the top of the section specifically for mobile devices, using a slider.
Bottom padding mobile	The 'Bottom padding mobile' setting works similarly to the 'Top padding mobile' setting but controls the space at the bottom of the section for mobile devices.
