1.1. How to create a new product, duplicate and edit. Detail info

To add a new product in Shopify, follow these steps:

Go to your Shopify dashboard.
Click on the “Products” section.
Hit the “Add product” button.
Enter the product's name, description, and price.
Upload images, video, 3d model to showcase your product.
Set options like size or color.
Set the quantity available for sale.
Assign tags and categories to help customers find your product.
Check Status: can be draft or active. When a product is marked as active, it becomes visible on the page. However, if it's in draft status, it allows us to make additional settings or changes before making it visible.
Click “Save” to publish your new product to your online store.

Duplicate a product

To save time when you add a new product, you can duplicate a similar product. If you want to add options to an existing product, such as color or size, then add a variant to the product instead of duplicating the product.

From your Shopify admin, go to Products.
Click the product to open the product detail page.
Click Duplicate at the right top corner.
Enter a title for the duplicate product.
Optional: Select which product details to duplicate.
Optional: Set the product status to active to publish the product on all sales channels, or keep the product status as draft.
Click Duplicate product.

Edit a product

After you've created products, you can edit them to change their descriptions, prices, and any other product details.

1.2. Managing product media

Add media to your products

In the Media section, add an image, 3D model, or video in one of the following ways:
Click Upload new, and then select the file that you want to upload.
Drag and drop the file that you want to upload into the Media section.
Click Add from URL, enter the media URL that's hosted on YouTube or Vimeo, and then click Add file.
Click Select existing to review and select from your existing media files.

Change your main product media

In the Media section, navigate to the media that you want to make your default media, and then drag and drop the image to the first image's place.

1.3. Add variant to a product. Detail info

In the Variants section you can create options like weight, design, or brand.
Click on Add options like size or color and in dropdown list click on create custom option
In the Option name field, enter a name for the option, such as weight. The option name is displayed to your customers.
In Option values section, enter each option value, such as 250 g, 500 g, 1000 g. The option values are displayed to your customers when they select a variant.
Optional: To add another option to your variant, click + Add another option. You can have up to 3 options for each product.
Click Done, and then click Save.
Take a look on all created variants below variants options.
These variants can be grouped by attributes such as weight, brand, or another options.
When you group variants by weight, imagine if one weight, like “500 g” has 2 or 3 brands names. By clicking the dropdown list for each variant, you can easily adjust quantities, prices, or update images as needed for each specific variant.
Clicking on the name of a variant will seamlessly redirect you to the detailed page of that specific variant. This grants you the opportunity to delve deeper and make any necessary further adjustments.

Size can be created in the same way as in the explanation above or through metafield as color swatches

Add Color Swatches

Color swatches are colorful buttons that can be placed on a product page. They replace the traditional drop-down menu or pills and allow customers to ‘click’ on the color button to see different colors of product.

Add Color Swatches — Product Page

In the Shopify admin, assign a category with a Color metafield to a product. Alternatively, the category can appear by default based on the product name.

Navigate to variants and click on Add options...

When the popup appears, select a Color

Click on Add color

You will see default entries — colors. You can add them, marking the checkboxes and save changes,

You can also create new ones by clicking “Add New Entry.”

You can edit default entry after adding by clicking on option

Create new entries. Edit the HEX value of the color in the variant and fill appropriate values.

Do the same for each variant.
Save the changes.

Instead of using color, you can add an image that represents the appropriate color.

Product detail page

Choose type pills to preview color swatches on a Product Detail Page or Featured product section (PDP):

1) In the 'Product information' template of Product detail page, find the 'Variant Picker' block;

2) In the 'Variant picker' block, choose type pills to see color swatches on the page.

You can choose different swatch styles and sizes.

1.4. How to view, edit, or delete product listings.

You can oversee your products comprehensively. Within this section, you can access all products, whether they're active, in draft, or archived. Furthermore, you can perform various actions such as removing a product, setting it as draft or active, and adding or removing tags. Utilizing the search icon, you can swiftly find specific products. Additionally, you can employ the arrows icon to sort products, and also you can alphabetically arrange categories and vendors.
